Movies set in Italy-Cinema Paradiso

August 30, 2011

Oscar-winning Cinema Paradiso from 1988 tells the story of a young Sicilian boy’s love for the movies and his friendship with the projectionist at the local theater. It gives you a peek into the Italy of yesterday, with good music and a feeling for impoverished Sicily. (and no, the movie is not in black-and-white, it’s just the poster)

Directed and written by Giuseppe Tornatore, staring Philippe Noiret, Jaques Perrin, Enzo Cannavale and Antonella Attili
