Olympic special / Spotlight on Italy / Day 5

August 2, 2012

Day 4 of the London extravaganza was not as exciting for Team Italy as the first three, so I’ll be racing straight to day 5, which proved to be a very successful one. And as you all know – there is nothing I like more than an Olympic gold.

It ain’t kayaking, if there are no waves splashing over your head, making it a K1 slalom. Daniele Molmenti obviously has no problem with that, as long as he’s getting the top spot on the podium. He achieved the great feat in a sport I would be too scared to even try, and brought another gold to Italy’s table, their third so far, totaling the medal count at 9. The only thing that can make this victory even sweeter is knowing that he did it on his 28th birthday. What a special day it must have been…

Catch up on days 1, 2 and 3 in case you missed some of the Olympic action!
