The Art of drinking Espresso-finding the perfect tazza

August 22, 2011

It doesn’t take much for a bunch of Italians to enter a heated discussion when it comes to the Art of drinking espresso.

Coffee in Italy seems to have a life of it’s own, and it takes many shapes and sizes. Between latte, macchiato, granita (yes, they make those icy treats with coffee as well-and I love it) espresso firmly holds it’s ground as the most popular coffee in the country.

Drinking it in a bar, along with a brioche is an essential morning ritual, collazione, that prepares you for the tasks of the day. It is an unmistakable mark of being Italian, whatever that means for you, and one of the ways of enjoying La Dolce Vita.
